PES Board Members

3 July 2024

Over recent months there have been some key changes within the Primary Eyecare Services Board of Directors. Our board are responsible for holding accountability for the organisation, providing strategic direction, oversight of effective governance and allocation of resources.

We would like to inform you of the departure of two esteemed members of our Board of Directors, Trevor Warburton and Gordon Elliot. Both have stepped down from the board, effective 20 March 2024.

Trevor has been an integral part of Primary Eyecare Services, with involvement in primary eyecare companies since 2012. He has provided valuable insights and expertise from his clinical and sector leadership background as well as his extensive experience from within local optical committees. Trevor (below) now progresses his journey to retirement.

Gordon has been with us for six years, and during this time has made significant contributions to Primary Eyecare Services. Bringing a wealth of experience to the board from working as a qualified optometrist, in both employed and locum optometry whilst also being a member of the GOC fitness to practice panel. Gordon (below) now has moved to practice in Wales.

Primary Eyecare Services would like to extend gratitude to both Trevor and Gordon for their dedication and service. Their efforts have been instrumental in advancing our goals and initiatives.

With that announcement, we have good news. We are pleased to announce the addition of two new non-executive members to our Board of Directors, Karen Bass and Claire Jenkinson, effective 1 April 2024.

Karen brings a wealth of knowledge to her role, from cross-sector experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, charity, education and professional services. Karen has extensive experience of governance. Bringing her expertise in these fields, Karen (below) will be invaluable as we continue to advance our strategic goals.

We are excited to leverage Claire’s insights and leadership on the board.
