NHS Funded Eye Care

Primary Eyecare Services is a not-for-profit primary eye care provider at scale.

We operate in 800 neighbourhoods working with multiple ICBs across England – delivering high quality eye care services. We collaborate with Local Optical committees (LOCs), NHS commissioners and NHS Trusts to provide locally accessible eye care to patients at scale.

Our services are provided in neighbourhoods via local opticians, from the smallest independent practices to the largest national chains.

Primary Eyecare Services co-hosts HSJ Webinar showcasing £1 million savings through Community Eye Care

Primary Eyecare Services recently co-hosted a Health Service Journal (HSJ) webinar highlighting how Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB is delivering eye care closer to home. The session explored how community-based eye care services are improving patient access, reducing pressure on hospital eye departments, and generating NHS savings of more than £1 million through strong collaboration between commissioners and providers.
