Overview
The Easy Eye Care Pathway Learning Disability Service is designed
to enable reasonable adjustments to be made to sight tests to
ensure they are appropriate and accessible for people with learning
disabilities and/or autism.

Inclusive
Allows for longer sight tests with reasonable adaptations, these include:
- Every appointment is with a trained Optometrists who is experiences in testing and talking with people with additional needs
- The option for patients to visit the Optical Practice before the test to become familiar with the surroundings and equipment used in the test
- The choice of longer appointments, or a series for shorter appointments, so there is no time pressure
- Before tests take place, easy-read forms are given to patients to complete to tell the Optometrist all about your eye problems
- After tests have taken place, an easy-read report is given to patients, explaining the results of the eye test and recommended next steps
