Our Net Zero Strategy and Carbon Reduction Plan

At Primary Eyecare Services, we are committed to achieving net zero and minimising our carbon emissions. We are taking proportionate steps to ensure our long-term carbon reduction goals are met.

A few of our carbon reduction projects to date include:

• Providing care closer to home for patients accessing our services
• Making the switch to all renewable energy sources in 2024
• Elimination of single use materials within our organisation

To achieve our carbon reduction goals, we have created our Carbon Reduction Plan in collaboration with Greenly. The Plan summarises the results of our 2023 GHG emissions assessment following GWP 100 GHG Protocol methodology, alongside key recommendations.

Primary Eyecare Services is committed to achieving Net Zero for our directly controlled (Scope 1 and 2) emissions by 2025 and committed to Net Zero for Scope 3 emissions by 2040. The commitment was made by the board of directors in 2024.
